AFL Canada, the Calgary Kookaburras and the Calgary Kangaroos are seeking suitable and qualified applicants for the position of Videographers in Calgary, Alberta for the Summer of 2022.

AFL Canada is the National Governing Body of Australian Football in Canada, responsible for the governance, growth and promotion of the game across the country.

The videographers will assist AFL Canada and member clubs in reaching their content, marketing and social media goals for 2022 and moving forward!

Videographer Roles and Responsibilities:

● Attend, view, and film Australian Football practices, games, promo days and tournaments in the local area.

● Store raw footage for use by AFL Canada and it’s member clubs.

● Cut and edit raw footage into shareable clips, and stills for use by AFL Canada and its member clubs.

● Contribute to AFL Canada and member club social media and marketing plans.

Videographer Requirements:

● A university degree in a relevant discipline or relevant job experience.

● Equipment necessary for filming games of Australian Football, as well as the software necessary to edit the footage.

● A portfolio of previous works.

● An RCMP background check (or willingness to obtain one).

● Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

● The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

● Valid driver’s license and car essential.

Good to have but not essential:

● A knowledge of, or background in, Australian Football.

Position Details:

● 8 Week position starting June 6th, 2022 (some flexibility on start date)

● Up to 35 hours per week: 4-5 hours attending/filming games, the remaining will be spent working from home editing footage.

● $15.55 per hour

● Reports to AFL Canada’s Executive Director.

Funding for this position is gained through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, as such, eligible candidates need to be between under the age of 30 and either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
